The benefits of people living in an inclusive society are:

  • A sense of identity, place and belonging
  • Increased social interactions, leading to the chance to meet new people and form friendships
  • Better networks
  • Empowerment and an improved sense of self
  • Participation, enabling personal development, learning and growth
  • A diverse range of life experiences

The Gawith Foundation has recently completed its strategic planning for the next three years. Our focus is on achieving the following three priorities:

Priority 1:

To increase our profile and move from being a passive partner in service delivery to taking an active role in the life of our local community.

Priority 2:

To engage in public debate and advocacy to ensure that government policy at all levels supports the full participation of people with disability in community life.

Priority 3:

To support the capacity of the community and local community members to include local people with a disability to be able to participate and contribute to local community life.

To achieve our priorities we work with government, community organisations and individuals to achieve our mission. If you wish to support our work, please contact us.
